I completed Show #1 of The Arizona Songwriter Showcase, interviewing Brant Phillip - no "S". I mention this because other than some of the technical issues that I need to work on, I referred to Brant’s last night as Phillips in several of the web pages and I believe in the interview. He brought it to my attention and my sincere apologies. This is one of those checklist items I need to include on pre-show prep.
However, it came out as a good interview and we learned a little about his songwriting, performing, and CD, "Smile For A Song". You can listen using the NowLive Widget at right for a limited time, or using the player below.
We will be discussing their new CDs, covering some songs, and discussing upcoming shows.
Please note: My genre placement is somewhat arbitrary. I know Jim is Americana and I gave the very generic, Adult Contemporary label to Brant. He is free to - and probably will - correct or clarify for me.
If you like the idea of The Arizona Songwriter Showcase, please consider linking to us, letting others know about us, and sponsoring us. Your support and encouragement is vital as we work to add vibrancy to the Arizona Songwriting community.
I am kicking off the Arizona Songwriter Showcase - currently working to determine the best day/time for a live/Internet broadcast. If you are an Arizona based performer of original music, I am lining up interview subjects immediately.
What does it take to get on the show?
You must be able to provide me with at least 1 track to play as a showcased title - 2 is preferred. It can be raw but it must be clear enough to convey the song.
You must be actively performing somewhere in the near future - so we can promote the show.
You must have some type of photograph - hopefully with your instrument of choice or performing.
This list is subject to change and I am reaching out to some songwriters I know to have first shot at being interviewed.
